Former Asheville Moog property sold for $9M. Now home to Helene-impacted businesses

ASHEVILLE – The former Moog Music Inc. property in North Asheville has been sold after the once music manufacturing-focused block transformed into a hub for displaced businesses following Tropical Storm Helene.

On Feb. 19, the Asheville-based 160 Broadway Building LLC and 174 Broadway Buildings LLC sold nine parcels along Broadway Street to the Somerville, Massachusetts-based real estate firm RCG LLC, according to the Buncombe County Register of Deeds. RCG also owns Asheville Arms and The Commodore in North Asheville, and the South Asheville Commons. The addresses span 160 Broadway St. to 178 Broadway St.

The sale was worth $9 million, according to NAI Beverly Hanks, the commercial real estate agency that helped broker the deal. The buildings were owned by former Moog Music owner and CEO Mike Adams, who in 2015 sold 49% of the company to employees.
