City of Birmingham looking for new ‘Urban Oasis’ location

The Birmingham City Council recently approved the purchase of a lot off 1st Avenue North to transform it into a so-called Urban Oasis.

The area would have a dog run, storage lockers, restrooms, and access to resources for the homeless.

On Monday, March 2, city leaders said after further talks with the property owner and surrounding business owners, they have decided to build the park elsewhere…
