CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A man faces several charges following an assault and kidnapping incident at an apartment complex Sunday evening.
Jalen Stuckey, 20, is charged with strong-arm robbery, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, kidnapping, first-degree burglary, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, unlawful possession of a machine gun and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony.
Officers responded to an apartment complex at the 1900 block of Hazelwood Drive at 5:30 p.m. Upon arrival, the victim told them that she had an argument with her boyfriend and attempted to leave when he grabbed her hair and pulled her back inside the apartment. Stuckey then allegedly struck her with a gun and stole her belongings, including her car keys, before he ran into a neighboring apartment without the residents’ permission.
Officers surrounded the apartment and ordered the occupants to come outside. He later exited through a window and was taken into custody. They recovered the victim’s property and located a gun equipped with a machine gun conversion device inside the apartment…
