Park Circle Staple Reopens as Bearded, A Social Tavern with Unlimited Gaming Passes

Formerly known as The Bearded Ax, the longtime Park Circle hangout has officially reopened as Bearded, A Social Tavern, debuting a new name and concept at 1077 E. Montague Ave. As of March 2, the space has transitioned from an ax-throwing venue into a full “barcade” and social tavern focused on flexible, time-based unlimited play.

“We built The Bearded Ax around bringing people together,” owner Ian Smith said. “That part isn’t changing. What’s changing is how people gather here. We’ve expanded far beyond one signature activity, giving our regulars more to explore and giving new guests a reason to walk through the door.”

New to the social tavern are hourly unlimited-play passes: $18 for one hour or $28 for two hours of unlimited play across the venue’s more than 32 games — one of the largest selections in Charleston. Guests can move freely between skeeball, air hockey, an indoor driving range, Big Buck Hunter, a Mario Kart Wii lounge, twin Fast & Furious racers, Super Bikes, Aliens Armageddon, Golden Tee, Space Invaders, Putter Pro Disc Golf, a massage chair and a giant Plinko board with rotating prizes…
