Remember when Dave Wondolowski stood on a stage and announced he was going to kick the rear end of then-candidate Justin Bibb? That was four years ago.

Today, Mayor Bibb is trying to give that same man an extended seat on the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority board — and Today in Ohio hosts are questioning multiple aspects of the move.

Here’s the setup: Wondolowski, the executive secretary of the Cleveland Building and Construction Trades Council, currently sits on the Port Authority board as a county appointee. Bibb wants to move him to one of the city’s six seats on the nine-member board — a maneuver that would effectively extend Wondolowski’s time on the board by two more years, while simultaneously poaching a board member from another government entity’s appointment…
