Owosso Mass Shooting Thwarted: Inside the journals

OWOSSO, Mich. (WLNS) — Hidden away on the second floor, front bedroom of a quaint two-story home in the 800 block of S. Lyon St. in Owosso, Mack Davis obsessively combed the internet’s darker side. He commented numerous times on posts about mass shooters and serial killers.

Davis had moved into the home just before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and shutdowns. His family had moved from Mt. Pleasant, where Davis had spent his formative years. Once ensconced in the blue home, he went nearly unseen.

For nearly a year, Davis was putting together both a handwritten and digital journal about his obsessive thoughts about mass shooters and violence, as well as his plans to carry out a mass shooting in Owosso.  6 News Investigates is presenting some of the journal entries, lightly edited for language, but with the punctuation and spelling errors intact.
