Man accused of ramming patrol car, leading 105 mph chase in Mableton

Devon Jamaal Lovelle Ezell of Atlanta is accused of ramming a police vehicle and fleeing at high speeds on Feb. 21 at 2:59 a.m. from the RaceTrac gas station, 5350 Floyd Road in Mableton, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department.

Ezell was issued a criminal trespass warning, but remained on Race Trac’s property. Ezell then attempted to strike a police officer with his vehicle. Ezell refused to exit the vehicle after being given multiple lawful commands by police. He rammed a patrol vehicle multiple times then fled the scene and initiated a vehicle pursuit from law enforcement, according to the warrant.

Police pursued Ezell through the intersection with Veterans Memorial Highway and Floyd Road. Ezell headed eastbound on Veterans Memorial Highway reaching speeds of 105 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone. Police had to conduct a PIT maneuver in order to stop him, according to the warrant…
