A Virginia woman is being praised for her heroism after she saved two boys from an apartment fire. She managed to put out the flames after getting home following a round of chemotherapy treatment.

Recently, Jerkesha Petty, who had been diagnosed with breast cancer, returned to her home in Colonial Heights after her 232nd day of chemo, CBS affiliate WTVR reported. She fell asleep, but was woken up by the sound of a fire alarm and realized a neighboring apartment was on fire.

“I looked across and I look at the door, and it was smoke coming from out of the top of the door,” Petty told the outlet. “I ran across the street, don’t know how I got the strength.”…
