At approximately 8:00pm on March 2nd, 2026, California Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of a possible freeway shooting on northbound Interstate 215 near the Ramona Expressway in Perris.
A woman told officers she was driving northbound when she heard a loud noise and initially believed she may have had a flat tire. She pulled over in a well-lit area and discovered a bullet hole in the lower driver-side door of her vehicle before contacting authorities.
CHP officers inspected the vehicle and confirmed the presence of a bullet hole. According to investigators, the woman was not involved in any road rage incident or altercation and was most likely not the intended target. Authorities believed the shooting appeared to be random…
