ELKTON – An investigation is continuing after a brush fire near Elkton over the weekend spread to a vacant mobile home that was used for storage, according to the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal.
An occupant on the property called 911 at 12:36 p.m. Sunday after discovering the fire in the 1400 block of East Old Philadelphia Road, prompting area fire companies to respond, fire officials said. Singerly Volunteer Fire Company of Elkton served as the on-scene command unit.
Approximately 40 firefighters battled the blaze for about 40 minutes before bringing it under control, fire officials reported. No one was injured…
