HENDERSON, Ky. (WEVV) — The newly formed ORX Tolling Body met for the first time Tuesday, passing resolutions to establish initial toll rates and policies for the future I-69 Ohio River Crossing connecting Evansville and Henderson.
The board, composed of transportation and finance leaders from Indiana and Kentucky, announced that tolling will only be in place on the new I-69 bridge. Construction on the river crossing is expected to begin in spring 2027 and reach completion in 2031, with tolling anticipated to start by Jan. 1, 2032.
Initial rates for a single crossing are expected to range from $3.14 for passenger vehicles using a transponder to $18.62 for large vehicles without an account. These figures mirror the rates anticipated for tolled bridges in Louisville in 2032.
