Missouri Senate axes funds for attorney general’s new St. Louis offices

The Missouri Senate on Tuesday stripped money for furnishing new space for the attorney general’s office and sending a tourism team to Washington, D.C., from a spending bill funding state agencies through June 30.

The changes cut about $1.1 million in general revenue spending from the supplemental appropriation bill that had already been cut by almost $90 million, including $8.2 million of general revenue, from amounts approved late last month in the Missouri House.

The 24-6 vote sent the bill back to the House, where it could be up for a final vote this week or sent back to the Senate for negotiations over differences…
