JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — A judge in the Jefferson County Circuit Court has dismissed charges against two men charged in a 2021 double fatal shooting in Bessemer, ruling they acted in self-defense under Alabama’s Stand Your Ground law.
In new court documents filed March 2, 2026, Circuit Judge David Carpenter granted immunity to Tignor Thompson and Ricardo Poole, effectively ending the cases against them. The dismissals were issued with prejudice, meaning the charges cannot be refiled.
