Perrigo to lay off roughly 7% of workforce as part of company streamlining efforts

A local pharmaceutical manufacturer will be laying off a portion of its workforce.

Perrigo announced they will lay off roughly 7% of its current workforce as part of a new two-year, enterprise-wide operational enhancement system, designed to create a more agile and resilient platform positioned for growth.

The company hopes the program will streamline operations in response to industry pressures, including softer consumer consumption leading to lower volumes, Perrigo said in a release.

Perrigo said they expect the program to enhance organizational effectiveness by improving agility, accelerate decision-making, and better leverage technology.
