Contracting icon retires after 42 years of service

Joseph Giunta, the retired executive director for the Army Contracting Command-Redstone Arsenal, was called “an icon in the contracting community” during his retirement ceremony Friday.

“Forty-two years of dedicated service, that’s an accomplishment,” Dan Gallagher, deputy to the commanding general of the ACC, said.

“We’re honoring a contracting hero who has a passion for the job, has a passion for the people, and has a passion for the warfighters,” he said. “His leadership ensured our Soldiers had the tools and resources to make sure” that they were successful all the time…
