NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A woman celebrated her 100th birthday with the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office in Norfolk Tuesday morning.
Yvonne Midgett turned 100 years old on March 3. To celebrate the occasion, Sheriff Joseph Baron, the office’s administrative staff, NSO Community Affairs and NSO Civil Process sang happy birthday to her, and delivered flowers and a cake to her, at 890 Poplar Hall Drive in Norfolk at 10 a.m.
As Midgett’s a member of the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office’s Senior Watch Program, and doesn’t have any family in the area, the office’s deputies check in on her to make sure she’s ok once a month…
