Pregnant woman attacked at apartment complex in Leesburg

A Leesburg woman was arrested for battery after allegedly attacking a pregnant woman whose children shared a father with hers.

An officer responded to a fight between 23-year-old Maria Mullor Urbina and a pregnant woman at The Rosewood Apartments, located at 1223 Pamela St., around 11:40 p.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. The victim’s partner told police that the mothers of his children got into an altercation.

The victim advised that she came to the apartment complex because her partner called to tell her that she needed to pick up their kids. She stayed downstairs while Mullor Urbina walked out, talking about the victim’s children. The victim asked her partner to get their children so she could leave before walking up the stairs, the report said.

Mullor Urbina then started repeatedly hitting her and tried to push her down the stairs, the report said. She followed the victim back down the stairs into the courtyard, where she grabbed her hair and repeatedly hit her with a closed fist. She also stated, “I hope your baby dies.”…
