Napa County warns of phishing scam targeting residents

Napa County is warning residents and local business owners about a phishing scam impersonating County departments and staff. Scammers are sending fraudulent emails that appear to come from the Planning, Building, and Environmental Services Department, requesting wire transfers or payments for permits and applications.

Officials urge the public to verify that any email claiming to be from the County ends with @countyofnapa.org and to avoid sending payments or personal information unless the request is confirmed legitimate.
