Nob Hill tenants given 15 minutes each to grab belongings after fire

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) —  Three days after a fire ripped through Building 3 of Nob Hill, tenants had each only 15 minutes to run in and grab what they needed.

Tenants had no access to the charred building they call home since the fire. But after a city inspection, the management group that runs the building, Destra, said they could finally allow people to go inside. About 80 people registered to do so, a Destra spokesperson said.

That reunion was short-lived, with each tenant limited to 15 minutes to gather essential items such as medications, clothing, mail and paperwork.

“That’s just insane,” said Tracey McClellan, a tenant. “15 minutes, we got our whole lives in this place.”…
