How NY investigators built felony fraud case against Manlius pediatrician over son’s vaccine records

Syracuse, N.Y. — Newly released court transcripts reveal how far state investigators went last autumn in an effort to prove a Manlius pediatrician faked her own son’s vaccine records.

Dr. Shareen Ismail, 49, of DeWitt, was eventually charged with felony fraud after using those vaccine records to try to enroll her son in public school last November. If convicted, she faces up to 7 years in prison.

At the same time, the state is seeking a civil court order to compel Ismail to turn over vaccination records for roughly 50 of her own patients from her Manlius practice, the Alexandre Centre for Children’s Health…
