GUILDERLAND — Athos, a fine-dining Greek restaurant open for almost 18 years and under its second owners since fall 2022, is closed, with signs indicating that it may reopen under a different name.
A note on the front door says it is temporarily closed for renovations, but the restaurant’s website and original Facebook page have been taken down, results on Google and online review sites show it as permanently closed, and a liquor license has been conditionally approved for a different operator at its address, according to a State Liquor Authority representative. The new entity is Zante Hospitality and will do business as Zante, the SLA said. New York Department of State records indicate a Zante Hospitality was incorporated in September at the Athos address, 1814 Western Ave. More information about the company was not immediately available.
The Athos phone number remains operational, with a generic voicemail greeting that does not mention the restaurant’s name, and its Instagram page remains up, with a post as recently as Feb. 20 that made no mention of an impending change. What may be a second Facebook page exists but has no content beyond the restaurant name and address.
