Lafayette residents urged to share growth views in survey

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Lafayette Consolidated Government is asking residents to help shape the future of development in Lafayette Parish through a new public survey. The survey will remain open to all parish residents through March 27, 2026.

The initiative is part of the Lafayette Parish Growth Plan, which was developed in coordination with the Center for Planning Excellence. The plan aims to ensure that ongoing residential and commercial development is coordinated with roads, drainage, utilities and neighborhood needs. Findings from the survey will help guide future decisions regarding infrastructure, zoning and public investment.

The Lafayette Parish Growth Plan focuses primarily on unincorporated areas, which are locations outside the City of Lafayette and other municipal boundaries. By focusing on these regions, officials aim to reduce conflicts among land uses and development standards, particularly in areas near municipal borders.
