With spring in the air and Daylight Savings starting March 8, the combination can mean only one thing – the long-awaited, highly popular local evening bass tournament circuit starts up soon.
The 2026 Wednesday Night Hawg Fights Bass Tournament Series first tournament of the year is scheduled to be held Wednesday, March 11, at Lake Fausse Pointe out of Marsh Field Landing. It’s “go time” with the interest ramping up daily among bass anglers and tournament officials led by second-year WN Hawg Fights BTS director Rusty Owens.
Count me in as one of the many avid bass anglers who cannot wait for the first one. It’s time, time for the adrenalin to start flowing at the 5:30 p.m. takeoff, time ticking away in the pressure-packed few hours before having to get back to the boat ramp in time to put “chip on the board” before the announced weigh-in time…
