GRANITE CITY, Ill. (First Alert 4) – Staff and regulars at Bindy’s Bar and Grill in Granite City are raising money for one of the restaurant’s beloved cooks and his family after he was injured in a crash last week near Nameoki Road and Palmer Avenue.
LeVonte Sayles, who has worked at Bindy’s for more than five years, said his car stalled in the middle of the street. He said he activated his hazard lights, checked the road and stepped in front of the vehicle to attempt to restart it.
“I seen a car that before it hit me, but he was so far back. So I’m like, okay, I got time. I want to say like 20, 30 seconds later, boom,” Sayles said…
