Recapping the bowling state championships for Downriver area teams and individuals

The Michigan high school bowling state championships formally came to an end these past few days with the Division 2, 3, and 4 finals taking place on Friday and Saturday, followed by the D1 finals on Sunday and Monday.

A total of seven boys and girls teams as well as two dozen individuals from the Downriver area were scattered throughout each of the four championship meets, hoping to end their respective seasons with some hardware in the form of a wooden mitten.

While none formally walked away as state championships, several teams and individuals made strong pushes to do so. That included a trio of teams that each settled for state runner-up finishes in their respective divisions…
