Outsourced work impacts 33 jobs at the Birmingham Parking Authority

A third-party contractor will be handling the Birmingham Parking Authority’s operations soon, leaving 33 impacted staff members having to reapply for their jobs if they wish to continue in their roles.

The BPA, which is a separate entity of the City of Birmingham that handles development and management of off-street parking, filed a WARN notice on Feb. 10 noting their intent to lay off staff, according to the Alabama Department of Workforce site.

As per the notice, the action will go into effect on April 1 and affect 33 employees…
