NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A Ladson man is facing multiple charges after North Charleston police officers allegedly located alcohol and drugs during a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.
Kimuel Brice Lee, 38, is charged with DUI, first offense; open container of beer or wine; improper use of a license plate; and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, according to jail records.
Officers pulled over a vehicle traveling westbound on Rivers Avenue near Gumwood Boulevard after they noticed an expired registration decal shortly after noon. During the traffic stop, the driver, Lee, told officers that he did not have insurance on the vehicle.
While speaking with Lee at the window, an officer reported the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. When asked about it, he said the odor was from CBD he had used earlier in the day, which led officers to conduct a probable cause search…
