POSEY COUNTY Ind. (WEHT) — After a public hearing, Posey County Commissioners decided to push back on adopting new language that would allow for the development of new solar farms.
Many residents showed up to voice their thoughts on the revised ordinance that will further restrict the development of solar farming. The current ordinance says farms must stay 100 feet away from non-participating land owners. The revised ordinance increases that distance to 500 feet in most cases and 1000 feet in others.
Companies like Engie are looking to build new farms in Posey County. However advisor Elizabeth Bennett says if the new ordinance is accepted companies will leave and not invest in Posey County…
