Auto parts giant closes 2 Indiana facilities, hundreds out of work

INDIANAPOLIS — Auto parts giant First Brands Group is cutting hundreds of jobs as part of its ongoing financial distress, including shuttering two facilities in Indiana.

First Brands Group filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy last September. The auto parts giant also faces legal issues with several executives charged in a multi-billion-dollar fraud scheme.

Last month, First Brands announced a wave of closures and layoffs in Ohio, with more than 1,000 employees now out of work in the Buckeye state. But the layoffs didn’t stop there…
