JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA — A devastating multi-vehicle crash on Atlantic Boulevard left three people dead and four others hospitalized Sunday afternoon after a teen driver reportedly crossed the median into oncoming traffic, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO).
Authorities say the crash occurred near Empire Point in what officials described as a head-on, chain-reaction collision involving multiple vehicles.
Crash Reported Around 12:30 p.m.
The collision was reported at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Atlantic Boulevard. Investigators say a teenage driver hopped the median and entered oncoming lanes, triggering a violent sequence of crashes.
The force of the impact resulted in catastrophic damage to several vehicles, with emergency responders arriving to find a chaotic scene scattered with debris.
