Lancaster families react to school program cuts amid budget deficit

LANCASTER, Pa. — Families in Lancaster are raising concerns after the School District of Lancaster announced cuts to student programming as it works to address ongoing budget challenges.

During a recent Committee of the Whole meeting held at Lincoln Middle School, district officials and school board members continued discussions about the district’s financial situation after announcing the district overspent by $15 million last year at a previously meeting. After using reserve funds, the district is still facing a $10 million deficit.
