Trespassing suspect arrested after causing lockdown at Central High School

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Central High School was placed on temporary lockdown Wednesday morning after a suspicious person was seen trying to get inside the school building.

A letter sent to Central families by the school district says that JCPS police on routine patrol at the school were told by school administration about a suspicious person outside the front entrance that was trying to get inside the building.

According to the arrest citation, when confronted by JCPS police the suspect, Derrick Mosley, 33, of Louisville, was told to stay outside the building but ran past officers toward the internal security checkpoint. Because it was unclear if Mosley was armed, the citation says officers drew their weapons and ordered him to the ground.

Mosley was taken into custody and booked into Louisville Metro Corrections on charges of criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct. He is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow morning…
