Instead, kids are being pressured, or in the case of Mack Davis, the Owosso man who will be sentenced soon, for planning a mass shooting…. groomed into doing something evil on a massive scale.

According to Dr. Amy Cooter, with The Institute for Countering Digital Extremism, the core goal for NVE manipulators is to bring chaos to society. The majority of NVE cases stem from someone communicating with your kids during an online game, like Roblux. The manipulators gain an online friendship — then ask your child if they’d be interested in looking at gory pictures or to talk about violence in a private chat room. If that happens, it then could be just a matter of time before your kid corresponds with the manipulator, or over the course of time, actually commits an act of violence. Doctor Cooter says the best thing parents can do is talk about this risk with their kids and discuss scenarios.
