Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office warns residents of scam calls

GLOUCESTER, Va. (WAVY)– Officials with the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) are warning residents of scams calls.

Officials say they had an influx of scam calls being reported on March 2. The caller is posing as a GCSO official and telling recipients that they have outstanding warrants or paperwork with the office. The suspect is requesting payment as a means of not arresting the victim.

Residents are encouraged to ignore the calls and messages. GCSO officials say they don’t handle outstanding warrant service or paperwork in this manner…
