State money flows to Shreveport for 50 Cent: $50M and 5 years, the clock is ticking

The clock has begun ticking for Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s G-Unit and the state’s $50 million incentive.

On Jan. 12, the 62-page Cooperative Endeavor Agreement was signed by the state and G-Unit Film & Television LLC to become official.

Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Susan Bourgeois was thinking about 50 Cent at the Feb. 23 data center announcement in Shreveport. “I was even thinking how amazing it would be to be able to announce them both at the same time, because they’re such diverse industries and sectors, but at the end of the day, we’re just happy to keep coming and announcing things here,” she told The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate.

A “reasonably likely” chance of success

The CEA states that after reviewing an economic impact analysis provided by G-Unit, LED felt “it is reasonably likely that the Project will result in a positive economic impact on the LED investment …”…
