Weather Alert – hail & wind threats return

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A Weather Alert Day is in place for Friday with threats of hail and wind on the way to central and eastern Kansas. There will be two rounds of storms impacting the area, with the first batch coming into the area late Thursday night and early Friday. Those storms may contain some hail and wind. A cold front moving in Friday evening will also bring the risk of severe weather (likely between 6pm and midnight).

Areas east of line from Russell to Pratt should be on guard for the active weather, but western Kansas could be looking at some fire potential and gusty winds to wrap up the week.

Central and western Kansas should be on the lookout for some foggy weather Thursday morning, then gusty winds and warmer temperatures push back into the area…
