UPDATE: Kansas man enters no contest plea to stalking charge

NEWKIRK — Sean Richard Cockrell, 57, entered a no contest plea in Kay County District Court to a stalking charge. Sentencing is deferred for 18 months by Judge David Bandy. Cockrell is ordered to have no contact with the victim, make no mention of the victim on the internet and obtain a domestic violence assessment.

Kansas man faces stalking charge in Kay County

NEWKIRK — A status docket is scheduled for a Derby, Kansas man accused of stalking in Kay County.

Sean Richard Cockrell, 56, is facing a felony count of stalking in Kay County District Court.

Ponca City police report that on March 27, an officer responded to the domestic violence shelter. There, a female reportedly told the officer that Cockrell has violated a protective order that she has in place against Cockrell. She reportedly told police that he had sent her a letter and called her and that the attempted communication caused her to suffer an anxiety attack…
