SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane could be named North America’s ‘Strongest Town’ — and you can help the city win the title!
Spokane Reimagined, a local transportation advocacy organization, nominated Spokane for the 10th Annual Strongest Town Contest to highlight the city’s progress on safe streets, housing access and affordability, and smart land use. The city now goes up against 15 other North American cities for the title; voting began on March 2. In this bracket-style voting tournament, Spokane will compete for the “Strongest Town” title by shining a national spotlight on its work to become a stronger, more resilient city.
In its application, Spokane Reimagined pointed to the “Building Opportunity for All” ordinance, the elimination of parking mandates, and the Janet Mann “Safe Streets Now” resolution as examples of recent policy successes…
