Gas prices rise in Tucson as conflict in Iran grows

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Gas prices in Tucson have risen by more than 20 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.13 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.

Julian Paredes, a spokesperson for AAA, said gas prices are rising for the fourth straight week — a pattern he described as normal for this time of year. However, he said the US-Iran attacks are now a factor in the market.

“If elevated oil prices stay for a really long time, they can definitely have an impact on gas prices, and what we’ve seen so far is a pretty substantial spike in oil prices,” Paredes said. “So, if that holds, it’s definitely possible that gas prices are going to follow.”…
