Albany psychiatric center patient charged with attempted murder

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A man has been charged with attempted murder after a violent assault took place at the Capital District Psychiatric Center in Albany. The incident involved two patients.

On March 2, around 7:05 a.m., Albany Police responded to the Psychiatric Center at 75 New Scotland Ave. after staff reported a violent incident between two patients. When they arrived, officers found a 55-year-old woman with severe injuries to her face and head. She was treated on scene and sent to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where she remains in critical but stable condition.

44-year-old David Trebilcock was located on scene and taken into custody. Through further investigation, detectives determined that the assault took place in a common area of the facility. Trebilcock kicked, punched and stomped on the victim’s face and head, resulting in severe face and head trauma…
