Cancer battle update: Henderson’s Lt. O’Nan faces tough choices

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEVV) — The Henderson Police Department has shared a medical update from Lt. Stuart O’Nan as he prepares for another major surgery in his ongoing battle with cancer.

In a message released by the department, O’Nan detailed the results of recent medical testing and outlined the difficult decisions he faces in the coming weeks. He underwent a CT scan and MRI and met with his orthopedic oncologist and plastic surgeon to assess the progress of his treatment.

According to O’Nan, the scans showed that radiation treatments have been very effective. Both his lymph node tumor and the tumor in his arm have shrunk significantly. He said the arm tumor now contains a substantial amount of fluid, an indication that the tumor tissue is dying…
