A man allegedly attacked his mother with a knife following a dispute about a speaker.

On Feb. 28, West Des Moines Police received a report of a stabbing at a residence in the 6300 block of Center Street, and responded to the scene around 7:28 p.m. local time, authorities said in a March 2 statement. There, they discovered an adult victim, and police gave medical care until the arrival of EMS, who transported the individual to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested Nathan Norrell, 21, in relation to the investigation and charged him with attempted murder and going armed with intent, per the Dallas County Jail, where he is being held on $750,000 bail. According to the police statement, their investigation indicated Norrell knew the victim, and the incident was “not a random event.”…
