A truck hanging on the edge of an Eisenhower Expressway bridge in Elmhurst, Illinois, caused significant closures on Thursday morning.
Illinois State Police said the semi-truck lost control at St. Charles Road and crashed through temporary concrete barriers just before 3 a.m. Police said the truck ended up on the new, unfinished portion of the expressway where it runs on elevated ramps.
According to Elmhurst police, eastbound lanes of the Eisenhower (I-290) were closed as crews responded to the point where the expressway passes over Vallette Street and Electric Avenue, where the 18-wheel semi-truck loaded with plastic was hanging on its side…
