Dane County airport generated $2.6 billion in 2024

Dane County Regional Airport (DCRA) continues to be a powerful economic engine for south central Wisconsin, generating nearly $2.6 billion in total economic impact and supporting 10,176 total jobs across the region in 2024, according to a newly released economic impact study.

The study, conducted by Tourism Economics, examined economic impacts across Dane County and seven neighboring counties, highlighting the airport’s crucial role in the health and growth of the regional economy. In addition to job creation, the airport supported: $2.6 billion in total economic impact, $730.4 million in wages and salaries and $491.2 million in total tax revenue, including $337.7 million in state and local taxes.

The study also found that for every $1 of direct business sales, the airport generates $1.52 in total economic impact, underscoring the ripple effect of airport activity throughout the local economy…
