Sioux Falls, state fraud trends spark discussion

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The fast-evolving world of fraud can affect people in all walks of life.

“I’ve actually had conversations with my mom just to discuss like, hey, if I ever call asking you for money, hang up and call me again so you can make sure that it’s actually me on the phone,” Tom Kirkpatrick said.

It’s part of the reason why AARP South Dakota supports Senate Bill 98, which passed through the House Wednesday morning. The legislation adds restrictions to cryptocurrency kiosks around the state.
