VENETA, Ore. – A vehicle linked to a recent police chase in Eugene was spotted trespassing in Veneta, prompting a swift response from Lane County Sheriff’s deputies.
According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies found the vehicle in a church parking lot after it fled before their arrival. An Oregon State Trooper set up a spike strip nearby. The suspected driver, David Johnathan Guggenmos of Springfield, was wanted on a felony warrant. When the vehicle attempted to flee again, spike strips were successfully used to slow it down.
