The Washington State Patrol (WSP) arrested a driver and his passenger after crashing into a trooper near State Route 512 while going the wrong way on Interstate 5 early Wednesday.
Troopers said the suspect, a 19-year-old man in an SUV who was wanted for first-degree assault, fled from law enforcement and went the wrong way on I-5 in Pierce County four times before the crash, according to WSP Trooper Kameron Watts.
