Mount Baker neighbors push for action against drug activity near schools, bus stops

MOUNT BAKER, Wash. — People are banding together in Seattle’s Mount Baker neighborhood to demand that city and county officials address persistent public safety concerns, including bus shelters that attract regular drug activity.

The issues they raised now have King County Metro responding.

Stephen Kinholt is helping to lead the effort by taking the block watch concept to a new level. Kinholt is one of about 90 volunteers with the organization Trash Walkin’, which picks up litter from city streets.
