The plan would build dozens of new homes near Koko Villas, but residents said there are concerns over zoning and whether the project should move forward.
The principal planner for phase two of Koko Villas said the intention of the project is to build 26 market-priced and eight affordable homes in Hawaii Kai next to the existing community.
“This is a 34-home project that’s planned as phase two of Koko Villas, which was originally built in 2004,” said G70 principal planner Jeff Overton. “We’re utilizing a three-acre parcel on the corner that’s vacant and kind of overgrown, and then another strip of land that’s on the mauka side.”…
