MEDINA TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WOIO) – An Ohio woman who made more than 1,700 fraudulent returns in a $266,699 multi-state organized retail fraud scheme is now behind bars thanks to the Medina Township Police Department investigation.
The Medina Township Police Department identified the scheming culprit as Tracy A. James of Peebles, a Southwest Ohio village located in Adams County.
The investigation revealed James used counterfeit driver’s licenses and aliases to obtain store credit through fraudulent merchandise returns over several years, said MTPD.
MTPD listed these fraudulent return transactions were made at numerous Home Depot locations in:
- Brunswick
- Medina
- Miamisburg
- Milford
- Wadsworth
- several Kentucky locations
